Well Le Mans is official now and the race date and car list has been announced. Just wondering if you guys are up for a 24hr race. As of now we only have 3 drivers if both Jay Dee and Roca want to run. If y'all are in let me know and I'll see if I can't recruit a couple more people to fill some drive time, that's a lot of racing with just 3 drivers.

For now just need to know if y'all want to race and what car you want to drive. I will have to purchase any car we choose so I don't really have an optimal choice as all will cost monies. Hoping we can get going on this early so I can get a competitive tune in place with enough time for all of us to get plenty of laps in before race day.

Also, Max, you are the man with this kind of stuff so if you have time, what could you do for an official sponsor for us? It would be a good way to recruit (good) drivers for the team in iRacing. Maybe something like shirts for the drivers or something like that. Just a little extra incentive to find fast people and possibly make A lobby to be on the official broadcast.

As for the car, I have the Corvette. Any of the others I would have to buy, which is totally fine if someone has a preference. I really don't.

I was leaning corvette. I don't want to buy a Ford, and that corvette sounds very mean. I'll text Roca, I know he got a wheel so I'll see if he can make it.

I'll talk to the "Boss" tonight then. Even though I hate Le Mans, this sounds like fun.

Oh I love it. Its incredible, although it's built like the ring I guess so the quality is lower if there's a lot of cars and the load time is ridiculously long. Great fun though, I've only run the Audi there but I do love the track. I know Roca is a fan as well so hopefully he can make it. And did you notice that the blancpain endurance series is gone this season? That sucks. Anyways, let me know and if you're in I'll get the vette and start building the tune.

I didn't realize it was Halloween weekend. That might be a factor for me with the kiddo old enough to dress up and score free candy for us (no, I'm not above that, don't judge me). Might limit my stints or spread them out to weird times, but I'm sure I can make something work. Even if I do some night time stints while everyone sleeps.

Whatever works for you man. And no judgement, I do the same thing. Only problem is no one here plans o, doing anything for that weekend, they all wait until actual Halloween night. So looks like that monday is going to be a late one for us here in nc. Don't hold me to it but I don't think they will enforce any kind of minimum drive time for the event since its a stand alone and not part of any official series.

Well I broke down and bought the vette. Working on a tune now. Don't know if you guys are going to be able to participate, if not I'll grab some random off the forums, I'm sure there will be people needing teams. I'll let you know what I get worked out as far as the tune goes.

All good man, no rush. We also may want to consider a different car. That vette is a handful. Tough to push and way more power than it needs. Its a beast and I am struggling to get it balanced. It also has one of those gear boxes like the caddy that you have to pop the throttle to downshift if you aren't at exactly the right rpm. I hear the Ford is a good car, very balanced in the corners and I also have been wanting to try out the hpd. Not sure how you feel about either of those options. What you think?

Then the vette is probably not the way to go. Its a monster. I'm thinking since its out first 24hr event we should go with something manageable and balanced. Maybe the Ford GT2 is the best option. From what I see in the forums that seems to be the most balanced car on the list. It will probably give us the best chance of finishing. I'll buy it this weekend and see what I can do with it. I wish gt3 was an option. The amg is great at le mans.

Yeah, I do like the AMG. I'll get the ford too and take it for a spin.

Okay so, I bought the GT and have done some tinkering with the setup. Still have a little work to do but it feels great. A very driveable car. So far a 4:02 is my fast but it could be faster. Just haven't gotten a really clean lap yet. I'll post setup later so you can try it out.

Another quick update, I'll tell you the full story later. I found us one more for Le Mans this month. So that's 3 drivers. I'll keep looking for at least one more.

As for the LeMans....I hate to do it man, but I probably have to back out. I told you on Tuesday I was having some family drama. My brother is going through some issues and he's coming up that weekend. I'm really sorry man, but you know how it goes, family has to come first. We're still working on the details, so if I can make it work I will. But my gut tells me there won't be much down time.

No biggie man. I can scrounge some drivers. I have 2 that want to run with us in January for Daytona. So we should be set for that race. Of you don't make it I'll try to keep you posted on what is happening.

Yeah, please do. I'm putting Daytona on my calendar now so my wife has no excuses.

I have the paint done except for the names of the drivers (don't have them yet). I'll post some pics later today.
