Sunday's PWC race at Barber, coming out of turn 4, on lap 19, running 6th behind Mike Skeen, the brand new Cadillac ATS-V GT3.R burst into flames.



JO bailed when he hit the sand trap, then went back to the car to hit the fire suppression system and torn off the hood for ventilation.

Johnny O'Connell wrote:

"The car just erupted," O'Connell said. "I didn't want to take (competitor) Mike (Skeen) with me, so I released the brake and went into the gravel and bailed out. You wonder how long it will take to undo the belts and things to get out of the car if something happens. Well, fire is a pretty good motivator".
